POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Market Sales Representative he/she will promote direct sales and travel extensively throughout the assigned Region to support and assist at working the special consumer, trade and VIP events.  This candidate will be involved in managing a wide range of brand activation events, such as Food and Wine Festivals, Travel Shows, Wine Tasting Seminars, Charity Auctions, PR Showcases, Pop-Up Ship Demos, Concerts and Sporting Events. These activities will require clear understanding and articulation of the Celebrity brand, its attributes, points of distinction, features and benefits plus effective communication, critical thinking, consumer event management, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. When not traveling or working different events, this candidate will be tasked with promoting direct sales in their Region roughly 50% of the time.

 

  • Partner with Director of Market Sales, Sales Market Managers and
  • Regional Field Sales Teams to execute initiatives at brand activation events in different designated cities.
  • Will research, identify, negotiate pricing, agree to service terms, hire and terminate event vendors for items such as food, beverage, furniture, printed materials, displays, etc.
  • Responsible for managing onsite vendors at consumer events to ensure negotiated agreements are delivered accurately.
  • Assists with load in, load out, setup and breakdown of activation events and is responsible for all questions regarding the logistics of the event
  • Handles the management of all product inventories (i.e. promo flyers, giveaways, celebrity branded trinkets)
  • Places all products, flyers, gift bags, furnishings and décor at event spaces and discusses company¿s latest promotions
  • Conducts lead generation in company provided IPads
  • Conducts bookings using the Colonial AS400 company program
  • Acts as a main point of contact to all guests and travel partners at events by answering questions, providing guidance and representing the company
  • Remains fully educated on the Celebrity Cruises product, key features and itineraries so as to represent the company at marketing activation events and be able to speak knowledgeably about the company as a brand.
    Supports the Director of Market Sales and Sales Market Managers with their assigned territory with coordination of brand activation and intensification events
  • Steps in as event planning support for your assigned Sales Market Manager to assist in logistics of event activation
    Conducts site visits with Sales Market Manager for potential event activation locations
  • Liaisons with partner representatives to coordinate all pre-planning for events and sponsorships
  • Responsible for obtaining printed material and other necessary items for events
  • Researches local and international businesses to request quotes on items needed to be purchased
  • Research local venues and bid on rental space for planned event.
  • Assists Sales Managers, Travel Partners and direct guests by liaising with other departments such as Revenue, Dining, Shore Excursions, etc. to ensure that all Customer Service, Group and Travel Agent concerns are resolved
  • Manages AFC (authorization for change) origination and process
  • Processes Gifts by Celebrity for Sales Managers via electronic form into AS400
  • Services existing bookings including making changes to reservations, accepting and recording payments and assisting travel partners with arranging guest preferences.
  • Researches and provides information in order to accommodate special needs.
  • Maintains accurate records of issues requiring follow up and drives issues to closure
  • Conducts research regarding Travel Partner or Guests concerns in order to come up with a satisfactory resolution that will in turn be communicated back to the Travel Partner and/or Guest. 
  • Approximately 75% travel or more to assist at Intensification event venues
  • Hours may vary and will require evening and weekend work depending on business needs

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or combination of education and experience.
  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years sales and/or event experience
  • Responsible for knowledge of all Celebrity Cruises products, services, and brand representation.
  • Individual with proven team collaboration skills
  • Travel industry experience preferred
  • Must be able to live in assigned territory
  • Approximately 75% travel to assist at intensification events
  • Passport required for the possibility of International Travel
  • Hours may vary and will require evening and weekend work depending on business needs
  • Candidate must have the ability to make sound judgment calls and have very effective problem solving skills
  • You must be able to work well under pressure, make decisions and ensure the smooth and efficient running of an event.
  • Responsible for seeing a problem to its resolution and take complete ownership.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must.
  • Ability to handle guests and travel partners with problems in a professional manner.
  • Thorough understanding of customer (both internal and external) requirements, expectations, and needs.
  • Ability to follow instructions, recall and apply standard procedures and use good judgment in providing quality service.
  • Ability to work independently within company and department guidelines and goals.
  • Experience in Microsoft programs - Excel, Word, Lotus Notes
  • Experience in Groups and Individual Reservation booking history and research capabilities required.
  • Experience and knowledge in using AS400 and Siebel
  • Complies with established industry and company protocols, procedures and quality assurance standards.
