This is an important, strategic role in the implementation of public relations programs designed to create and maintain favorable public image for the organization and expand our internal expertise. Key responsibilities include media and influencer relations, storytelling, press tours, PR agency relations and event support and staffing. 



The individual in this role is responsible for developing and implementing public relations and media relations initiatives. They will perform a wide range of duties including:

-Help achieve company/client goals via strategic, assigned efforts

-Handle incoming media inquiries

-Create innovative approaches to generating coverage in the media, draft press releases, talking points and statements.

-Track press coverage, write coverage reports and create and maintain clips and media lists

-Present content/copy ideas with accompanying visual or video suggestions

-Bring ideas to the table based on promotions calendars, milestones, holidays, etc.

-Coordinate individual press trip requests and liaise with appropriate personnel on requests

-Escort media on press tours/trips

-Assist at special events, inaugurals, ship launches, etc.

- Support team members across various projects

-Stay abreast of latest industry developments, trends, and shifts in the travel industry

- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets

Job Requirements


-Bachelor’s degree required with a concentration preferably in journalism, communications, and/or public relations

-Minimum 3 years’ experience in public relations, media relations and/or journalism. Agency experience a plus.



Strong understanding of existing and emerging media outlets and journalists

Strong writing skills. Press release writing, story narrative and message creation experience a plus

Excellent research, written, verbal and presentation skills

Customer oriented skills (within business to business (B2B) & business to customer (B2C) segments)

Ability to manage multiple projects and participate in cross-functional teams

Creativity and a willingness to experiment 

Understanding of social media, influencers and emerging media

Ability to write clear, cohesive and enticing copy, the ability to tell a story is essential

Strong project management, planning, evaluation, and analytical capabilities

Solid knowledge of AP Style writing and MS Office skills

Detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
