Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The qualified candidate will be responsible for sourcing for a variety of projects throughout the fleet within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost to deliver specified requirements and our internal customer’s needs.  The candidate develops a procurement and negotiation strategy that meets our internal customers’ needs as well as our procurement guidelines. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Procure goods and services for assigned projects such as newbuilds, dry docks, in-service projects, or operational maintenance, etc.
  • Implement a procurement and negotiation strategy based on variables such as price, quality, availability, warranty, project terms and conditions, etc.
  • Performs moderate to complex price analysis while considering total project cost, timing and customer needs. 
  • Single point of contact for internal customers base to ensure project needs are met. Ensures that products or services are delivered as needed to ensure successful project completion.  Coordinates with internal customer to finalize project and resolve any guarantee claims.
  • Provides guidance to internal customers during budget preparation such as product and service pricing.
  • Should be aware of compliance requirements of regulatory agencies (DNV, IMO, SOLAS, USPH, US Coast Guard, etc.)
  • Works independently and prioritizes based on projects needs and time lines. Assists other team members when workload warrants.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
  • Emphasis in project management preferred. 
  • 5+ years related experience procuring for medium to large scale projects.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. 
  • Familiarization with Microsoft Project preferred. 
  • Proven analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities. 
  • Ability to travel domestic and international.
